Serenates d` estiu Musical
Youth of the municipality of Capdepera organized since 1988 this musical event in the coastal town of Cala Ratjada. The gardens of Bartolomé March Foundation, located in Palace March and by the impressive Torre Cega, serve as an ideal setting to enjoy the concerts are held there each year. The gardens were designed by landscape architect Russell Page and welcome part of the contemporary sculpture collection of the Foundation. The gardens have been completely rebuilt after a storm's sweep in 2001 and reinagurados by the Kings of Spain in May 2010. The concerts are usually held every Friday during the month of July. Concurso Internacional de piano Vila de Capdepera This event is held every two years in Capdepera to 2 km away from the Hotel Bella Playa. It is organized by the Cultural Association of Music Art and the City of Capdepera, pianist Naomi Dalmau is the Director of the contest. The contest is open to all young pianists up to 30 years of age who request them. The competition is divided into 5 levels according to different ages. There is a level 0, out of competition for children up to 8 years. Contest duration is four days and is usually held in the Municipal Theatre of Capdepera. Medieval Festival The medieval festival is held annually in mid-May during all the weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Over the years it has become one of the most important events in Mallorca. The Market is located in the medieval castle of Capdepera (XIII century) and in the streets around the walls. Its first edition was held in 2000 to mark the 700 anniversary of the Castle. This Medieval Festival has a large number of street stalls and shops selling a myriad of crafts, food, textiles, soaps, toys, jewelry, candy, medicinal herbs, beverages, etc. You can also find numerous bars, pubs and bars to enjoy a wide range of cuisine. Throughout the weekend people returns to the medieval town and its streets are held many concerts, workshops, demonstrations and theatrical performances. All enlivened with performances of medieval knights, jugglers, musicians, dancers, acrobats and actors take over the village streets evoking the medieval period. Mostra de la LLampuga La Mostra de Llampuga is a food fair held in early October at the esplanade of the port of Cala Ratjada. This culinary demonstration is organized by the municipality of Capdepera, and the Fishermen's Association and has the support of the Association of Hoteliers and Restaurants. LLampuga is a blue fish that can weigh 30 kg and 2 meters long. Live about four years and has sharp teeth and curved. It has a small crest on the back and his head is almost vertical.
